🏷 What is the content description and how to add it?

Every international shipment in Outvio needs a content description. If you often ship the same type of products, it is highly recommended to tag these products with a description in your store. This way, you can be sure that you do not have to add this description manually for each order in Outvio.

Shopify

Prestashop

Magento

WooCommerce

Create "Tags" in the Products section. You can see the "Tags" section on the right side of the website.

Create "Tags" in the Product Catalog section: Catalog -> Tags

Create a custom product attribute called "description", and later on, fill in the field with the preferred description

To add an attribute to the product, you firstly need to enter the product, click on Attributes, and then add a new custom product attribute (here you will be able to add the outvio_description attribute and fill in the field of Value with the preferred description).

For Prestashop and Shopify

For example, if you sell dresses made of cotton for women, you can create a tag for these products called "PD Women's Cotton Dress" (PD stands for Product Description). Always enter the product description as "PD description" (without quotation marks, and the description can contain 1 to 5 words and is in English) and assign it to the corresponding products. Do not forget to click the "Save" button.

These tags can be assigned in bulk for all those products that fit within the same description, simultaneously.

🏷 What are the HS codes and how to add them?

When it comes to shipping outside of the EU, it is mandatory to add the HS code to the products. The HS code must appear on the shipping invoice. You can do it in Outvio, but it is much more convenient to tag your products with the right HS code in your CMS.

Shopify

Prestashop

Magento

BigCommerce

WooCommerce

Go to the product you want to change. In the "Customs Information" section, change the product details.

Choose to add a new tag the similar way you added a tag to your product description:

If the HS code is, for example, 62. 17. 10, the product should be labeled as "HS 62. 17. 10" - Outvio takes into account the first 6 digits of the HS code.

There is a separate field for the HS code.

Keep in mind that, Outvio only considers the first 6 digits of the HS code.

Go to Control panel and select Custom Fields.

Add Custom field name:

HS_Code and a custom field value for the HS code for example 621142

Add an attribute called outvio_hs_code. Later on, you fill in the value with the correct HS code.

Keep in mind that, Outvio only considers the first 6 digits of the HS code.

Alternatively you have the option to add the HS code of your products manually in Outvio. For more information, click HERE.

🏷 How to tag products as non-returnable?

In case you don't want to make all of your products automatically returnable through your returns portal, you can select the ones that are not returnable.

In order to do so, add a tag or attribute to all these products called "no_return". This way, when your customers access your returns portal, they will not be able to return those products.

Example from WooCommerce

Since it is quite effortless to tag your products in your online store, we strongly recommend you to do so. After all, it will save you a lot of time when you manage your shipments in Outvio.

📦 Perfect, now your products are all set!
