What are metafields?
Metafields enable the customisation functionality and appearance of your Shopify store by letting you save specialised information that isn't usually captured in the Shopify admin.
How does Outvio help with this?
After you set up the metafields as per the following instruction, we will be able to import them in Outvio. This metafield will allow to find your products' location in the warehouse.
How do you do this?
1. In Shopify -> Settings -> Metafields -> Variants
2. Add definition -> Input the following:
Name: Product location in warehouse
Namespace and key: field.productvariantlocationinwarehouse
Description: Location name of the product in the warehouse
3. Select content type as "Single line text" and Save
4. Metafield definition appears in the list
You now have added a metafield in Shopify, which will be passed over to Outvio! 🎉
You will see it in Outvio in the picking list:
❗️Things to note:
For now, you can add one metafield: Variant Location In Warehouse (sends location of the product in the warehouse to Outvio)
If you use it for something else rather than variant location, it will still appear, however, the title will remain as Warehouse Location and it will be visible in the picking list only
