If you don't know where to request your UPS webservice credentials to use Outvio and print labels, this article will help you.

The API credentials are the Client ID and Client Secret generated on the UPS Developer Portal. Below are required steps.

Step 1: Sign up for a ups.com® profile.

  • If you have not already done it, access ups.com to register to create a new ups.com username/profile with a generic or group email address that has not been used for ups.com registration. A group email is suggested in the event the person who sets up the registration is no longer on the team, then the user ID can still be managed by someone else with access to the group email inbox.

  • We recommend setting up a separate ups.com profile to be used for the purposes of an API integration only (which would prevent tampering with the credentials by users that would use an existing ups.com profile for other purposes).

  • Please add your UPS account number/s to created user profile (from user options: Accounts and Payment > Add a Payment Method: Add existing account) which you intend to use with the setup as payment option and validate it. Validating means providing the invoice number, amount and date from an invoice received from UPS for each given account, not older than 30 days or using the PIN method.

Step 2: Access developer.ups.com to begin UPS Developer Portal.

  • Once at the portal, login with your credentials from ups.com.

  • Go to Profile dropdown and choose Apps, then Add Apps.

  • On below page, select the required fields and click next to begin your integration, for example I want to integrate UPS shipping capabilities to my business. In the Choose account dropdown select an account if your user ID already has one associated, add an existing account, or open an account. Once the account is selected click Next.

  • Add contact information. Fill out the required fields, then click Next.

Step 3: Add preferred API solutions.

  • On the Add App page, give the app a name, click the + sign to add the desired API products to your app. OAuth is required and is selected by default.

Step 4: Save API credentials

  • Click the “eye ball” icons to reveal the Client ID and Client Secret, copy and save them for later use.

With these credentials, you can now add them in the couriers section to the UPS integration and use Outvio for label printing, tracking, returns, etc.
