Notify your clients about their shipments via sms

The SMS Notifications feature allows your clients to get insight and information about their orders in real-time via SMS. The feature is available for all plans by default, and for Grow, Conquer, and Enterprise, it is possible to customize the templates.

How does it work? 🤔

Once you enable this feature, Outvio will send automatic one-way SMS notifications to your clients every time there is an important update on the shipment status, for example, that the order has been picked up, it's out for delivery, or delayed.

You can find this feature in Branding -> Notifications:

Add credit

To send messages via SMS, will need to add credit, so go to Settings -> Billing Data and click on “Add credit”. You can also tick any template or try to change the sender name to be redirected there.

When you click on 'Add credit', you can choose between the already added payment methods or add a new payment method. Once the payment is confirmed, the amount will appear in this section, meaning it's ready to use 👇

❗️The minimum amount possible to add is EUR 50 

Customise the templates

Go to Branding -> Notifications and enable the SMS templates you want to be sent to your clients by ticking the corresponding boxes on the right of each message:

🔔 To customise the templates for your messages you have to be on Grow, Conquer or Enterprise plan

To edit the SMS notification templates, choose the message that you would like to customise and click "Edit", and you will be redirected to the templates:

Make sure you select the “SMS” option on the upper left corner and then choose the language 👇

Edit the template to your liking - you can add variables of your choice and add emojis to make it more personal 🤯

❗️Make sure it's less than 160 characters, or it may be split in multiple messages

❗️Please note that the URLs for tracking and returns provided in the SMS have been shortened to accommodate the character limit.

Don't forget to create a template for every language and choose the needed destinations. If no destinations are chosen, this template will be used for all destinations by default.

After saving your customised template you can preview it to see the final result by pressing the “View” button next to it:

Add a sender name

The sender name is the name that your clients will see on the notifications. This is optional, since as default (when this field is blank) the sender name will appear as Tracking. If you want, you can customize your sender name by choosing any name of your liking like your company brand name, a general name, or a phone number (in specific cases depending on country).

❗️Customized sender name is free when you request it for the first time. If you want to change it again or add a new one for another brand, you will be charged 50€ for each change.

  • A sender name can consist of a maximum of 11 characters

Once you add your chosen sender name in the field, you will need to wait for the confirmation.

While the confirmation is pending, you will still be able to send SMS messages but the sender name will appear as Tracking (or the previous name you had) and once it's approved, you will see it in your account.

☝️ Outvio will do its best to filter the numbers into the correct formats by country, however, it is the sender's responsibility to be aware of the possible restrictions/requirements for their country and region, as well as to provide correct formats for the customer phone numbers with correct country codes and NO SPACES! Invoices 📋

During each month, your SMSs will be counted to your invoice which will be generated at the end of each month and if you press Details, you will see the information (type, amount, country, and price per country):

That's it! Now you can start sending messages to your clients and let them know the status of their shipment at every step of the way, improving the client experience, trust and satisfaction! 🎉
