The "Internal Courier" is a manual courier option within your Outvio account designed for various purposes. It can be used for orders that are awaiting to be picked up from your store, displaying tracking updates in your tracking portal, and sending tracking notifications to customers when shipping orders externally.

It's important to note that the internal courier is not an actual courier service; rather, it serves as a versatile tool for specific operational needs.

How to configure it🤔

  1. To set up the courier, go to Settings > My Couriers and click on Internal

2. Click on Create Courier to unlock the Settings

3. You can choose to use the courier for internal shipping only. Toggle the option on and add "Internal delivery" as the shipping method.

4. Next, click on Internal Settings. Here, you can set an Alias for the carrier to recognize it in case you activate multiple contracts. You can leave the email field empty since it is an internal carrier.

5. Under Assigned warehouses you can choose the warehouses for the courier. In case you would like to add the internal courier for store pickup, add the store as the warehouse.

Once you have configured all the desired settings, you can start using the internal courier.

You can also choose the internal courier option if you ship with your own means. You may activate customer notifications in the branding section, just like you would for an external courier.

6. Manually change the status of your orders:

→ Since this is an internal courier, and Outvio does not receive direct tracking updates for it, it is not automatic. This means that you need to manually update the status of your orders to show these updates in the Tracking Portal or also trigger the notifications to the clients.

The status updates works like this:

  1. After the label is created, you will see the order automatically change to Status "In Transit"

  2. After that, you have only 2 statuses available that will update your order:

    • Order ready for pickup

    • Close and set as delivered

🌟In case you want to use this courier for orders picked up in-store, this is explained in this article:

Finally, you may use this courier for test purposes, if needed. This is perfect since it will not create any real pickups or labels and will not affect your operations. You will be able to cancel these orders from shipping back to the Orders Tab without issue.

Note: when you ship with an internal courier, a tracking number is not generated
